Longer answer: Businesses go where talent is and talent chooses places that are vibrant, diverse, and livable.
To stay competitive, the South Shore must attract and retain a strong workforce while fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. Do that, and prosperity follows.
It takes regional collaboration. Our communities are strongest when we work together.

THE CONCERN: The region is aging faster than any metro Boston, and a lack of housing is making it harder for employers to recruit and retain talent. WHAT WE CAN DO: Build communities that attract and keep the next generation of workers. HOW TO DO IT: Work with local communities to expand housing options and invest in placemaking, creating a mix of housing that meets the needs of young professionals, families, and downsizing baby boomers who want to stay on the South Shore. |

THE CONCERN: Outdated systems aren't built to support future employers or a post-pandemic economy. WHAT WE MUST DO: Upgrade infrastructure and expand capacity to support growth. HOW TO DO IT: Partner with communities, experts, and landowners to identify and implement smart, forward-looking solutions. |
